The route day after day

Day 1: Departure

You will take an international night flight from Montreal to Marrakech.

Jour 2: Marrakech

From the airport, you will be taken to your Riad, a guest house with a great history located in a Berber village 20km from Marrakech. The Berbers, an indigenous ethnic group from North Africa, have preserved the traditions and customs inherited from their ancestors. This mysterious and free tribe will welcome you and make you discover its fascinating culture.

Day 3: Grand Atlas - Berber Mountains and Villages

You are going on a 4×4 excursion in the Atlas Mountains. This incredible mountain range is home to typical villages, terraced crops and diverse wildlife. You will enjoy an authentic dinner. The unique itinerary we offer will be an unforgettable experience for everybody.

Day 4: Marrakech - Ouarzazate - Skoura

You start the day heading south by crossing the Tichka pass, the road is superb with lots of stops along the way.

You will have lunch in Ait Benhadou, the famous village with its kasbah listed as World Heritage by UNESCO. Enchanting with its traditional southern Moroccan architecture, this village or ksar with orange hues has hosted many movies sets ! It houses several kasbahs, typical square citadels with a tower in each corner.

You will have dinner and spend the night in a beautiful building in the heart of the Skoura palm grove, the largest in Morocco still inhabited and with a very particular style. You will see dozens of old Kasbahs and mud houses very well preserved. (Bkfst, L, D)

Day 5: Skoura - Dades Gorge - Todra Gorges - Merzouga

You continue your journey towards the dunes of Merzouga, passing through the Dades and Todra gorges. You will cross the splendid sand-colored cliffs, some of which are more than 300 meters height.

You will arrive in Merzouga at the end of the day. This small Saharan village is located in the heart of the desert and offers a panoramic view of the highest dunes of Morocco.

You will have dinner in your guest house located at the base of the dunes, away from the bustle of the village to fully enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the desert. (Bkfst, D)

Day 6: Merzouga

The whole day will be dedicated to the desert. You will visit Rissani, then the village of Khamliya where your dinner will be served based on “Medfouna”, the typical dish of the region (a kind of bread stuffed with almonds, meats and onions) to the rhythm of Gnawa music : this traditional music was used during rituals.

You will spend the night in a tent in a bivouac nestled at the base of the dunes, with private bathroom. (Note: this bivouac is human sized, only 16 tents). Your children will love this extraordinary experience. (Bkfst, L, D)

Day 7: Merzouga - Ouarzazate

Today, you will cross the beautiful Draa Valley, between oasis, palm groves and kasbah made of clay soil. You will have dinner along your way and you will arrive at Ait Benhaddou at the end of the day. You will discover this village and its enigmatic mazes.

Dinner and night at your hotel built in the style of a Southern Kasbah. (Bkfst, D)

Day 8: Ouarzazate - Marrakech

Today, you will make your way to Marrakech. You will have lunch along the way.

In the afternoon, you will arrive at your hotel located in the heart of the Hivernage, the most lively district of the city, close to all places of interest, restaurants, cafes, trendy bars. (Bkfst, L, D)

Day 9: Marrakech

The day will be dedicated to the historic visit of Marrakech, its palaces, ramparts, souks and its magnificent Medina. Marrakech is colorful and lively city : you will love the Jemaa-el-Fna square, the Majorelle garden or the Koutoubia mosque.

You can even take advantage of a cooking class. Known in the world for its tasty tagine and its emblematic couscous, Morocco cultivates an original and recognizable culinary art among thousands.

You will dine in a restaurant in the heart of the Medina. Second night at your hotel. (Bkfst, L, D)

Day 10: Marrakech - Essaouira

After lunch, you will leave for Essaouira where you will arrive in the afternoon. You will be charmed by this white, multiculturel and artistic city from its winding ramparts to its medina. On your way, you will stop to visit an argan oil cooperative run by women. This “liquid gold”, originating in Morocco, has many virtues: rapid healing, protection of the scalp…

Your hotel is located right at the entrance to the old town and across from the ocean, making it the best location for exploring the city. (Bkfst)

Day 11: Essaouira

Free day to enjoy the city, its beaches, its ramparts, its markets. Your children will enjoy the day by the sea. You could even choose your fish at the port and have it grilled in front of you: a real treat! (Bkfst)

Day 12: Essaouira - Departure

Lunch at the hotel then departure to Marrakech airport for your return flight. Depending on your return flight, a night in Marrakech may be necessary. (Bkfst)
